First of all, we all would like to thank you for your concern for the earthquake occured in Kumamoto area on Kyusyu island on last Thursday. It was a strong earthquake with 6.4magnitude. We live in Osaka which is about 700 kilometers(approx 440 miles) apart, and we had no influence by this earthquake so far.

We are so shocked to see Kumamoto castle had terrible damage and this is very shocking thing for people of Kumamoto.

The very frequent aftershocks are occuring and this is causing people a lot of fear and tense. The researchers say the earthquake is warning another and bigger one but still is it not known. We received many e-mails regarding the earthquake, and like to thank you for your concern.

In this newsletter, we like to introduce `hitoe'(unlined) kimono.

June and September are the months to wear hitoe kimono- but because of global warning, this rule seems to be not practical. HItoe kimono are lighter and can make you look more slim(I am not sure, but my friend believes so and she wear hitoe most of the time!).

Hitoe kimono are not so many but they are nice and should be more - the rules are not so strict and poeple wear hitoe sooner and enjoy for longer time now.
